Car troubles - again!
Took my car to the garage on Friday because it was making a whinning noise from the engine. I knew it was the turbo that was causing it. The garage had previously repaired the turbo after a pipe had blown off it within a week of having a brand new engine fitted. When I picked the car up following the repair I was told everything was now fine. It was making the whinning noise as soon as I picked it up but I gave it a chance. I have driven it for a week or so until I could take the noise no longer and booked the car in.
I was promised that the car would be ready to collect at 4:00pm. I was out with a colleague all day so didn't need my car until then. I phoned the garage at 3:30 to see if the car was ready only to be told that it needed a whole new turbo unit and that I wouldn't get it back until at least the middle of the following week. That meant I had to arrange a hire car.
The hire car arrived at my house at 8:30pm! After the guy had dropped it off I realised that the car and the paperwork didn't match. When I later got in the car to go to the shop there was a terrible smell in the car. A cross between sick and sour milk. I had to drive to the shop and back with the windows open!
I got up on Saturday morning with a horrible cold, sore throat, headache, aching limbs the works. It still took me over 3 hours to sort out the hire car and get it replaced with one that didn't smell quite so bad!!
What a weekend!

What a day!!!
Today, with less than 1,000 miles on the clock since the new engine was fitted, the turbo has gone. I have to wait for the next three hours for a low loader to arrive and take me back to the garage in Leeds. The trouble is - I'm in Preston at the moment!!
Don't imagine I will be home much before 5:30 and in a hire car.

Had a great holiday
Well we had a great holiday. Not everything went smoothly of course, it never does. But at least the problems were all fairly small ones. The thing that annoyed me the most was the fact that I lost my new MP3 player on the plane while going on holiday! I had loaded it with tunes and was looking forward to listening to it on the beach. To keep it 'safe' I put it in my camera bag, that way I knew where it was and could use it on the plane if I wanted. As we crossed the south coast the clouds just disappeared and I had a great view of the coast line. I couldn't resist diving into the camera bag and getting a couple of shot through the window. In doing so I must have pulled out the MP3 player as well, never to be seen again!!!!

Loading tunes
Preparation for the holiday is now well underway. The MP3 player is loaded, the camera gear has been squeezed into a fairly small gadget bag all I need now is to start packing!

Holidays are coming!
The only down side to this is that I will be missing Leeds Photocamp. Somehow I managed to get my dates mixed up. I could have sworn that the Photocamp was scheduled for sometime in October!
Looking forward to new photo opportunities in Menorca!

I can't believe this really happened! If you have seen the recent Powerade ad campaign featuring Rebecca Romero, well lets face it you could hardly miss it it's posted on billboards all over the place, you will know what I mean. As a bit of a dare a colleague accepted the challenge to recreate the ad. The photo on the left is the result!Priceless!
